Highlights of Villa's 2018-2019 fixtures - released today

Aston Villa's 2018-2019 league fixtures were released at 9am today (21/06/18) and here are the best bits!

First home and away matches

On Monday 6 August 2018, Aston Villa open their league campaign with an away match against Hull City, 19:45 kick-off for live coverage on Sky Football.

The following Saturday we host Wigan Athletic at Villa Park.

Carabao Cup

Aston Villa have been drawn away to Yeovil Town in Round One of the League Cup. Fixtures for the opening round take place on week commencing 13 August 2018.

We will be announcing our travel plans in due course.

Local Derbies

We have tonnes are local derbies to look forward to this season, including fixtures against Birmingham City, West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City.

Birmingham City

We host Birmingham City at Villa Park on Saturday 24 November 2018. This is expected to be moved to the next day, Sunday, with a noon kick-off.

Birmingham City away is currently scheduled to be played on Saturday 9 March 2019. This is also expected to be moved to the following day.

Our plans: we are running travel to the away fixture and organising for a pub to open early in Bromsgrove for breakfast and drinks.

West Bromwich Albion

Our away match at West Bromwich Albion (08/12/18) conveniently falls at the same time as the Birmingham German Market. Sausages, beer and then the match…perfect combination!

Saturday 16 February 2019 is the current date for the home fixture.

Festive fixtures

Boxing Day

On Boxing Day we are treated with a festive away trip to Swansea City.

New Year's Day

We have a home fixture against Queens Park Rangers. Traditionally trains do not run from Bromsgrove on New Year's Day and we will be running a large coach/double-decker to help members get to this match.

Last away match

The last away match of the season is quite a juicy one against Leeds United on 27 April 2019.
